Re-tune is necessary for us all. It is time to energise our conversations, speak with passion and be kind while doing it. Speaking positively with others allows them to see us as professionals, friends and courteous people. While the details of conversations are forgotten, how you made them feel, will have an impact. So let's re-tune our words and be prepared to make all of our interactions meaningful and positive.
So from now on, let's Re-tune our words:
- THINK before speaking. Will this comment purely create joy? Is it inclusive to all people and things?
- ACCEPT the whole dictionary as an option. Be clear and stop using cliches.
- FOCUS on language that uplifts and inspires.
- LOOK into their eyes, and connect with them.
- ALLOW for pauses in conversation to collect ideas.
- ASK questions " What are your thoughts on this?"
- Use 'Please' and 'Thank you' because gratitude does matter.
Some extra ideas that I will be using in my own conversations moving forward:
- That's an awesome opportunity, yes, please.
- I am proud of you because...
- Good morning beautiful humans.
- This makes me feel excited.
- Can you please clarify that for me?
- I'd like to thank you for taking the time today...
